Objective:

Get insight into the systematics and methods of SMED in order to be able to realize a readjustment reduction for production machines.

Content:

The continuously growing diversity of products leads to increasingly smaller sessions with higher production frequencies. In such a fast changing market, readjustment is crucial for the profitability of your organization. Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) is a method that has been developed in Japan and has already helped a lot of companies to reduce readjustment considerably. The advantages: flexible production, larger capacity, lower inventory costs and less bottlenecks.

Programme:
In the training the following subjects are covered:

The SMED method;
Guidelines to implement SMED and accompanying analysis techniques;
The basic proceedings of SMED;
Online and offline readjustment activities;
Roadmap readjustment reduction.

All the above concepts are deepened on the basis of practical examples.

Result:
Based on the SMED method, you are able to map the (readjustment) process within your own organization and define improvement opportunities. In the case of an in company training, you will also have access to video material which can be used to coach or train new colleagues.

Prerequisites:

A specific earlier training is not necessary. Experience in the field of readjusting machines and being able to work analytically is a benefit. The training is intended for supervisors, machine operators, maintenance staff, engineers, organization experts and business administrator who have to do with readjusting machines within production processes.
